F A Qs

We've put together these FAQs to help you learn a little bit more about us and to also help with any confusion with how the INAMO Wristband, video & charity works.

The INAMO platform, site, mobile, web-app, etc. are governed by the applicable Terms of Service and these FAQs are not intended to change the Terms of Service.

  • What is an INAMO Prepaid Starter Card
INAMO Starter Card is the formal name of our non-reloadable single load starter prepaid debit card program. The INAMO Starter Card can also be referred to as the INAMO Wristband Account or INAMO Wristband (actual physical wristband). We will use these two terms throughout this FAQ. Consider an INAMO Wristband like a cash or gift card. Because it’s prepaid debit, it means whoever uses it to make purchases can only spend what is loaded onto the INAMO Wristband Account. The INAMO Wristband Account cannot be overdrawn.
  • How do you load funds onto an INAMO Wristband Account?
As the purchaser goes through the purchasing process, they will be promoted to load between $25-$500 (just like a gift card) using their cedit or debit card.
  • What happens when the Recipient receives their package?
When the Recipient opens the package, inside is the INAMO Wristband & a prepaid debit card with instructions how they can pop-out the chip and insert into their INAMO Wristband, activate their INAMO Wristband Account and view the personal gifting message.
  • Where can an INAMO Wristband be used to make purchases?
The Recipient can use their INAMO Wristband to make contactless payments anywhere Visa prepaid debit contactless payments are accepted within the United States. You cannot use the INAMO Wristband outside the United States or for online purchases. For more information about contactless payments go to Visa’s website https://www.visa.com.au/pay-with-visa/contactless-payments/contactless-payments.html
  • How do I pay with my INAMO Wristband?
When it comes time to pay, look for the contactless payment symbol on the terminal. Face the INAMO logo on the patch of the INAMO Wristband within 2 centimeters of the contactless enabled payment reader. Ensure that the INAMO Wristband is held at the terminal for 1-2 seconds to make sure that the chip is read by the payment reader. It's like paying with a contactless credit or debit card.
  • What happens if my INAMO Wristband is not working at a Merchant?
    1. Make sure the INAMO Wristband Account has been activated. 2. The merchant has a contactless terminal. 3. There may not be sufficient balance on the INAMO Wristband Account. 4. A PIN has incorrectly been tried 3 times in a row. If it has, INAMO Wristband Account will be locked and you will need to phone the Call Center to have it unlocked. 5. If the INAMO Wristband is still not working after checking all of the above please contact us at support@inamo.com.
  • What happens if the INAMO Wristband is lost?
Unfortunately, just like a gift card, there is nothing we can do as we have no way of linking the Recipient to their INAMO Wristband Account.
  • Can I check my balance?
We send a daily balance alert to the designated mobile phone and we also send a weekly balance as well?
  • Can you add more money onto the INAMO Wristband Account?
Similar to a gift card, the INAMO Wristband Account is a one off single load. More money can be loaded however the Recipient would need to upgrade to an INAMO Wearable Personalized Prepaid Card. For more information on our INAMO Wearable Personalized Prepaid Card please scroll down and you will see it after INAMO Wristband Limits.
  • Can you transfer money from my INAMO Wristband Account?
Unfortunately no. This is a prepaid debit account and all funds would need to be drawn down by making contactless payments.
  • Can you withdraw money out from an ATM?
You cannot use an INAMO Wristband to obtain cash from an Automated Teller Machine (“ATM”), POS device, or by any other means.
  • How secure is personal information?
INAMO follows strict data privacy laws. More information can be found in our Privacy Statement at www.inamo.com/privacy or via the INAMO Web App.
  • Are there any limitations on where you can make payments?
You cannot use an INAMO Wristband to make illegal transactions such as gambling. More information can be found in the Cardholder Agreement.
  • What happens when the value of a purchase exceeds the remaining balance I have in my INAMO Wristband Account?
If the value of the purchase exceeds the remaining balance in the INAMO Wristband Account, the transaction will be declined. It is really important that the Recipient is aware that when it comes time to making a purchase, to ensure there is enough money to cover say, tips, the bank calculates an additional 10% to ensure you have enough money in the account. For example, the Recipient went to a cafe and your bill is $4.50, the bank will calculate $4.95 (you will still only be charged $4.50) and if there isn't $4.95 in the account then the transaction may be declined.
  • What if a merchant requires pre-authorizations?
Some purchases at hotels, restaurants, car rental, or gas stations, or similar merchants may require pre-authorization and may temporarily hold money from your card balance that could be greater than the actual purchase amount. Once the final payment amount is received, the pre-authorization amount on hold will be removed. Availability of the pre-authorized funds can take up to seven (7) days to be released back into your Card balance.
  • Can you use Debit and Credit Payment Options with an INAMO Wristband?
The INAMO Wristband can be used either way as credit or debit transactions. It depends on how each merchant processes their payments. Debit transactions may require a PIN, so we recommend you choose to use a PIN. You can also use the Credit payment option with your Card where a PIN is not required. If the terminal prompts you for a PIN you may be able to just press the enter button to complete the transaction. This varies from merchant to merchant.
  • Is there a Low-Balance Alert?
Yes. When the balance of the INAMO Wristband Account goes below $5, we send the Recipient an email asking if they wish to donate the balance to their nominated charity or transition over to a INAMO Personalized Prepaid Card.
  • What happens if the Recipient chooses to donate their low balance to charity?
The Recipient needs to provide us the details of their nominated charity and at the end of the month, we will forward the balance. The purchaser of the INAMO Wristband will be sent a donation receipt for their taxes.
  • Can the Recipient nominate more than one Charity?
Not right now. The Recipient currently can only nominate one Charity at any one time.
  • How much of the Recipient's balance goes to their Charity?
All of it. INAMO does not charge any fees or make any deductions
  • Are there fees associated with INAMO Wristband Account?
Inactivity Fee: $5 per month after 90 days of inactivity.
  • What are the spending limits to the INAMO Wristband Account?
Minimum Initial Load Value: $10 Maximum Initial Load Value: $500 Maximum Amount per Transaction: $500 Maximum Daily Spend Amount: $500 Maximum Monthly Spend Amount: $500 Maximum Balance of Card: $500
  • What is an INAMO Wearable Personalized Prepaid Card?
INAMO Wearable Personalized Prepaid Card is the name of our reloadable card program. This is where you can reload funds after upgrading and going through the identity verification process. When you choose to upgrade, we must collect and verify identification information. This is a requirement from the federal government to fight terrorism and prevent money laundering and is required by the USA Patriot Act.
